OverviewDr. Hang Ruan obtained a Bachelor's degree in Biology and a Master's degree in Ecology from Nanjing University during 2004-2011. From 2011 to 2014, he worked as a Bioinformatics R&D Engineer at Beijing Novogene Co, Ltd., receiving systematic training in computational science. After that, he pursued a Ph.D. in Bioinformatics (comparative transcriptome) at Fudan University under the supervision of Chinese geneticist Xun Gu from 2014 to 2017. In the period 2017-2020, Dr. Ruan conducted postdoctoral research (focusing on cancer multi-omics data analysis) at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, collaborating with Professor Leng Han. In December 2020, he joined the Institutes of Biology and Medical Sciences (IBMS) at Soochow University as a professor. Dr. Ruan has been engaged in interdisciplinary research of bioinformatics in both industry and academia. His current research focuses on utilizing genetic statistical methods and artificial intelligence for multi-omics big data analysis, particularly in immune-related complex diseases. His work contributes valuable data for understanding the genetic basis, molecular mechanisms, and diagnostic and therapeutic aspects of relevant diseases. Dr. Ruan has authored over twenty papers, accumulating more than 1800 citations.
