Abstract:
An introduction to the Royal Society of Chemistry and a quick guide on the publishing process and what to be aware of when writing your research article. Dr Southall will provide tips to help authors decide where to submit their article, guidance on how to prepare your article and what you need to focus on to have the best chance to get your paper sent for peer review. There will also be more information on the life cycle of a manuscript at the RSC and what editors and reviewers are looking for in a manuscript. Finally, some tips for promoting your article after acceptance to boost the visibility and maximise the impact of your published work.
Biograpy:
Dr Maria Southall is Executive Editor for the RSC’s Interfaces & Engineering portfolio of journals, including Biomaterials Science, Polymer Chemistry, Soft Matter, Catalysis Science & Technology, Reaction Chemistry & Engineering and Molecular Systems Design & Engineering (MSDE). She has been with the Royal Society of Chemistry since 2014 working on a variety of RSC journals including Analyst, Analytical Methods, Lab on a Chip and Faraday Discussions. Maria has a PhD in Molecular Genetics from the University of Glasgow and prior to the RSC carried out postdoctoral research at University College London (UCL) and the University of Cambridge, UK.
