The objective of this post

The objective of the post is to teach and conduct research in the fields of pharmacology, pharmaceuticals, pharmaceutical analysis, medicinal chemistry, and biopharmaceuticals. The appointees are expected to deliver high-quality education to students, providing them with a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical sciences. The appointees must engage in research activities actively. They will play a crucial role in advancing their respective fields by conducting innovative and impactful research in areas such as novel drug discovery, formulation development, advanced drug delivery systems, development of innovative biopharmaceuticals, precision medicines, etc.

Person Specification Essential

The candidate must have

* A Ph.D. or equivalent degree in pharmacy or a related biomedical science field

* A demonstrated record of excellence in the academic field

* Ability to develop and maintain a research program

* Strong verbal and written communication skills

* Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others

Special attention will be given to candidates with

* Experience conducting multidisciplinary or interdisciplinary research

* Successful track record of academic/research leadership and team building

* Experience leading to commercial translation

* Recognised reputations and impact in academia or industry

* Strong network and ties with renowned international entities and organisations

Specific Responsibilities

Education and Teaching

* Participate in the administration and delivery of modules in pharmacy and biopharmaceutical-related areas.

* Ensure an applied context for the teaching and assessment within the programmes.

* Utilise a student-centred approach to all duties to ensure optimal educational outcomes.

* Prepare and evaluate assessments and guide students in their academic journey.

* Lead and advise on modules within the programmes.

* Contribute to the quality assurance/quality improvement and accreditation of all programmes delivered in the College.

Research

* Conceptualise, plan, organise, and execute research of high academic and scientific value in pharmaceuticalsciences.

* Secure external funding and partnerships to support research activities.

* Translate and implement research findings into real-world solutions, foster the transition from theoretical research topractical application and contribute to improving public health and healthcare systems.

* Establish and maintain international collaborations and networks, participate in global conferences and seminars, and contribute towards the international visibility of the College.

* Publish research findings in esteemed international journals and present work at reputable international conferences, showcasing contributions to the global scientific community.

* Provide mentorship and advisement for students and early-career researchers, fostering their academic growth and scientific curiosity.

Service

* Competent in academic administrative duties and engagement in aspects such as attendance at examination boards,team meetings, interviewing prospective students, attendance at open days, outreach events, etc.

* Contributing to thesis review committees as requested

* Promoting the best interests of ICPI at all times, enhancing the College's reputation.
