Research Experience

Dr. Liang Zhang received his Ph.D. degree in application of synchrotron radiation from University of Science and Technology of China under the supervision of Prof. Junfa Zhu in 2013. He then got the prestigious Alexander-von-Humboldt fellowship and stayed at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg under the supervision of Prof. Hans-Peter Steinrück. From May of 2016, he worked at the Advanced Light Source of Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory as a Postdoc under the supervision of Dr. Jinghua Guo. He joined FUNSOM at Soochow University as a full professor since 2019.

Research Accomplishment:

Dr. Liang Zhang has been working on the energy storage materials and synchrotron radiation, including (1) high-energy and high-power secondary batteries (Li-ion batteries, Na-ion batteries, Li-S battereis, Na-S batteries); (2) application of in-situ/operando X-ray spectroscopy (XAS/XES/RIXS/XPS); and (3) the development of newin situ/operandosynchrotron radiation-based spectroscopy and microscopy methods and their applications in energy storage and conversion materials. He has published ~130 papers in the journals of Science, Nature Catalysis, Adv. Mater., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., CCS Chem., Nano Lett., ACS Nano, etc.
