Introduction:

Dr. Wuis currently a professor at Soochow University. He obtained his Bachelor Degree in Chemistry (2006) and PhD Degree in Inorganic Chemistry (2011), both from Fudan University. From January 20008, he spent one and a half years to study at the Department of Chemical Engineering of Monash University under the supporting of China Scholarship Council (CSC). In 2010, he was the first to enrol as a PhD candidate under the Dual-Award PhD Program between Fudan University and Monash University. In 2012, he was awarded a PhD Degree in Chemical Engineering from Monash University. Afterwards, he worked as a research assistant and then as a research fellow in the Department of Chemical Engineering at Moansh University. In September 2014, he joined Soochow University as a full professor.

He is one of four key personnel in “Innovative Research Team” awarded by the Jiangsu Provincial Government in 2017. He has obtained some research awards, such as the “Young Investigator Award” from the 2015 Asian Particle Technology Symposium, “Shanghai Excellent Graduates” in 2011, “Shanghai Excellent Doctoral Thesis” in 2012, and so on.

Dr. Wu’s principal research interest is the synthesis nanoporous materials for the purpose of catalysis and environmental remediation. His group has explored and developed several new and general methods, such as microfluidic spray drying assisted assembly and solvent-free nanocasting, to synthesize and process functional nanoporous materials with a range of chemical compositions, especially porous carbons and metal oxides. He has contributed to the basic understanding of the mechanisms of drying-induced interfacial assembly and nano-confined synthesis for the generation of mesoporous materials. Meanwhile, his group has made continuous efforts on developing general methods, such as ammonia post hydrolysis, nano-confined growth, spray drying assisted nucleation, to synthesize heterogeneous catalysts composed of a porous support and an active component in the form of functional groups, single metal sites, ultra-small nanoclusters or size-controllable nanoparticles. The purpose of the above research is the basic and applied research in separation and catalysis. In particular, his group has developed high-performance adsorbents for CO2separation and heavy metal ions removal, and efficient catalysts for electro-catalysis, selective hydrogenation, catalytic ozonation, biodiesel production, solar-driven water desalination and purification, etc. He has undertaken some R&D research projects collaborating with Koovine Group Environment Technology Co. Ltd, to develop efficient catalysts for ozonation of organic waste waters.

Dr. Wu has published > 70 peer-reviewed journal papers, most of which have been appeared in reputed international journals, such as Science Adv., J. Am. Chem. Soc., Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., Adv. Mater., Adv. Funct. Mater., Energy Environ. Sci., Environ. Sci. Technol., Small, Chem. Eng. Sci., and so on. The papers have attracted > 5000 citations. He has co-authored 8 patents, including both applied and authorized ones.
