Biography Sheng-Peng Sun is a professor of Chemical and Environmental Engineering in the College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Materials Science (CCCEMS) at Soochow University. He received his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from Tongji University in 2010. Dr. Sun joined the faculty of the Soochow University in 2014, arriving from Cornell University where he was a postdoctoral associate (2010~2013). He was promoted to associate professor in 2014 and to full professor in 2022. Research Interests Professor Sun’s research focuses on the treatment of organic contaminants in water and wastewater. He contributes to engineering and science on the invention of various advanced oxidation processes (AOPs) for water/wastewater treatment and for in situ groundwater remediation, including homogeneous and heterogenous hydroxyl/sulfate radicals-based AOPs. More recently, the Sun’s laboratory is working on the invention of catalytic ceramic and organic membranes for potable water reuse. He is the author of more than 40 papers in referred journals, conference proceedings and book chapters. His publications have received over 3000 citations to date (H-index 22). He has received several awards for his work, including the Innovative and Entrepreneurial Talent of Jiangsu Province, the Certificate of Excellence in Reviewing from the journal of Chemosphere, the Certificate of Merit Award from the American Chemical Society (ACS), etc. Selected publications: (1) G.
