翟俊教授是一位具有丰富经验的美籍资生理论、教育和设计专家。他拥有国务院外国专家局的专家身份,是美国景观建筑师学会会员,www.优德88.cpm 的特聘教授,www.优德88.cpm 空间规划研究院的副院长,以及建筑学院风景园林系的原主任。此外,他还是美国E.A.S.T.scape景观城市设计公司的创始人和首席设计师。他在美国宾夕法尼亚大学和北京林业大学获得了景观设计双硕士学位,并师从著名的生态规划设计创始人迈克哈格(Ian. L. McHarg)和景观都市主义创始人詹姆斯·科纳(James Corner)。

翟俊教授获得了教育部和其他省部级课题的资助,并获得了“十四五”教材立项。他出版了包括《海绵城市建设的景观途径》和《景观都市主义的理论与方法》在内的三本专著。他的研究成果发表在国内外高水平权威期刊和SCI/SCI等高影响因子期刊上,共发表了80多篇论文。此外,他还担任了Urban Forestry & Urban Greening、Ecological Indicators等国际知名期刊的评审专家。他还获得了美国和中国的多项发明专利。

Professor Jun Zhai is a distinguished Chinese-American landscape architect, urban theorist, and educator. He is recognized as an expert by the State Administration of Chinese Foreign Experts Affairs and is a member of the American Society of Landscape Architects. Currently, he holds the position of distinguished professor at Suzhou University, where he is also the vice dean of the Spatial Planning Research Institute. Previously, he served as the chair of the Landscape Architecture Department at the School of Architecture. Furthermore, he is the founder and principal of E.A.S.T.scape, a landscape urbanism design firm with offices in New York and Suzhou.
Professor Zhai's educational background includes dual master's degrees in landscape architecture from the University of Pennsylvania and Beijing Forestry University. During his studies, he had the privilege of being mentored by renowned ecological planning and design pioneer Ian L. McHarg and landscape urbanism founder James Corner. These influential figures played a significant role in shaping his approach to landscape architecture and urban design.
Throughout his career, Professor Zhai has been actively involved in both education and practice, fostering design discourse through collaborative projects with professionals and academics across various complexity levels and cultural contexts. His primary focus has been on reestablishing ecological open space systems within dense urban environments. Over the past three decades, he has led and participated in more than 100 domestic and international design projects. His designs have received international recognition, including prestigious awards such as the U.S. Department of Transportation's Most Livable Community Environmental Award and the IFLA-APR Award. Professor Zhai has also been invited to serve as an expert judge for international competitions organized by the World Landscape Alliance (WLA).
As an educator, Professor Zhai employs research by design and other methodologies to explore the relationships between landscape, ecology, and contemporary urbanism. He particularly emphasizes the connections between ecological thinking and design practices. Under his guidance, his students have achieved remarkable success in competitions held by prominent organizations such as the American Society of Landscape Architects (ASLA), the International Federation of Landscape Architects (IFLA), and the Chinese Society of Landscape Architecture (CHSLA). Many of his graduate students have been awarded national scholarships and secured admission to prestigious international universities in the United States, the Netherlands, and Hong Kong, where they pursue doctoral degrees with full scholarships.
Professor Zhai has received funding from the China Ministry of Education and other provincial and ministerial-level projects. He has also been entrusted with the development of textbooks for China's 14th Five-Year Plan. He is the author of three monographs, including Landscape Approaches to Sponge City Construction and Theory and Methods of Landscape Urbanism. His research and practice encompass a wide range of landscape and urban design aspects, such as landscape urbanism, park cities, landscape infrastructure, ecological-green integration in the Yangtze River Delta, landscape-led urban design, sponge cities, urban renewal and revitalization, ecological and biodiversity restoration, landscape carbon sequestration, and ecological landscape planning and design. His research findings have been published in reputable domestic and international journals, including high-impact factor publications such as SCI/SCI, with an extensive portfolio of over 80 papers. Additionally, he serves as a reviewer for renowned international journals such as Urban Forestry & Urban Greening and Ecological Indicators. Professor Zhai has also obtained multiple invention patents in both the United States and China.
As an active member of various professional associations in multiple countries, Professor Jun Zhai contributes his expertise as a committee member and is frequently invited to serve as a review expert for government projects. He is actively engaged in social services and cultural promotion activities, including participation in the production of themed documentaries for the Looking at China program broadcasted on China Central Television. His dedication and contributions have made a significant impact on the field of landscape architecture and urban design, and his work continues to shape sustainable and innovative urban environments.
